MOBIS produces steering systems such as MDPS, gear boxes and oil pumps for drivers’ safety and convenience. MDPS (Motor Driven Power Steering) is an electrically-controlled steering system in which the motor replaces conventional hydraulic power. It increases fuel efficiency while reducing weight and environmental pollution.

Column-type MDPS
  • Drive motor is attached to column
  • Most common option due to flexibility in securing space needed for packaging in vehicle
  • Mostly used in small to mid-sized vehicles
Dual-pinion rack-type MDPS
  • Separate pinion and motor are attached to the gear box for direct drive
  • Faster response and more natural steering feel compared to column type
  • Mostly used in mid-sized to mid-large-sized vehicles
Belt rack-type MDPS
  • Attached to belt & pulley structure and motor for direct drive
  • Low-friction, high-efficiency structure is used for high-performance steering feel
  • Mostly used in mid-large-sized vehicles
